I absolutely loved photographing this adorable couple! We did the shoot at Annie’s Grandmother’s home in Augusta, GA, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect location for this pair. I love that we captured this special season of life for them in such a meaningful place. Annie and Ross are so precious, and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer.

With Valentines Day right around the corner, I can’t help but share their sweet story with you all. Talk about romantic!

How They Met: 

In the summer of 2011, Annie transferred to Auburn University. She did not know many people in Auburn and so Jessica, a friend of her sister in law Lauren reached out to her.  They became friends and started hanging out together.

On one particular Tuesday, July 19, 2011, she went with Jessica to Taco Tuesday to meet some of her cousin’s “Lawyer Friends”. To her surprise the guys that were in law school were duds but this one particular boy who was Jessica’s coworker (Ross) was very interesting and caught her eye. They all hung out together that summer and became close friends. Jessica left  Auburn in August, but that did not keep Ross and Annie from continuing their friendship. They went on many dates to Momma Goldberg’s Deli, because that was the only place that Ross knew that she liked.

Ross and Annie were studying in the library late, on November 3, 2011, when he askd her if she wanted to be his girlfriend. Ross said he was very nervous because she had already shut him down one time, but he was brave and tried again.  She was very surprised, but excited at the same time. She was ready to get to know this great friend in a more intimate way. The next couple of months Annie fell more in love with Ross everyday and quickly knew he was the man she would spend the rest of her life with.

Ross always says that he felt like Gatsby, trying to woo Annie all summer and fall, but in the end Ross got his Miss Daisy. This Gatsby story had a very different ending, but for both of them, it was their happy ending.

How He Proposed: From Annie’s Perspective 🙂 

We had been dating for two years and planned a trip to Nashville to celebrate on the weekend of our anniversary.  It just happened that my mom and Ross’ parents were going to be in Nashville that same weekend.  Ross realized this would be the perfect weekend to tell me how much he really loved me.  So while exploring the downtown area of Nashville Ross and I crossed the Shelby street pedestrian bridge to enjoy the sites. But what I didn’t know was that my mom and aunt were hiding ready to snap photos of this special moment.  Ross told me that he loved me for the first time and got down on one knee to pop the question.

The diamond in my  ring is my Grandmother’s (Annie Odom Vernon) that passed away several years ago. We will be getting married on the same day that Annie and Homer (my grandparents) got married 73 years ago, June 21st 1941.
