Last year we decided to start a family tradition of finishing our work and school, and heading straight to the mountains. No to do lists, or shopping frenzy, or anything but resting and appreciating the things and people God already blessed us with. It’s been so wonderful to go into Christmas already filled with so much contentment and peace.
This year we had extra fun because John’s family came to Augusta to celebrate John graduating from Grad school and then the whole family met up in Bryson City! It was the first time we’d all been together in several years, and it was such a treat to watch all the cousins love each other and celebrate an early Christmas. We opened gifts, made candy houses, and of course…took a couple family pictures 🙂
If you’re ever thinking about a getaway, we’d highly recommend Bryson City, and especially going on the Polar Express…oh…and they have a really good Mexican restaurant there we’re known to frequent regularly 😉
