An announcement from the Louis Family

Hey Everyone!

It’s John here. Holly and I wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your congratulations and well wishes on the birth of our little girl Georgia Kate! We’re so in love with her, and thankful for a healthy baby, momma, and delivery.

We want to update you on a big change coming to our family, but first I want to give you a little backstory. You may or may not know that I currently work full time at ADP (the payroll and tax company, not the home security company;) and do photography on the weekends while Holly stays home with our babies and handles the business side of our business. If you asked me 5 years ago if I thought I would be working in the tax industry, I would have thought you were crazy! I truly enjoy my job, but it’s not what I thought I’d be doing for my whole career. When I thought about what my dream job looked like, it didn’t sound realistic. I wanted to work with people, I didn’t want to sit at a desk all day, I wanted to do something meaningful that would help people, and I wanted something that would challenge me. Do jobs like this exist? With a Communications bachelors degree I couldn’t figure out what job this would be, and thought I was too old (26) with too many responsibilities to change career paths. Last summer, on a whim, Holly and I began looking up nursing programs. I’ve always thought I would love a job in the medical field, but didn’t know how to get there. After doing some research we found the CNL (Clinical Nurse Leader) Masters program at Augusta University and found that it was designed for students with non science bachelors degrees (hey! that’s me!) and decided to start doing some prerequisite courses. It’s been a crazy year working full time, and staying up every night until midnight or later working on anatomy homework, while trying to balance family life, and our business. I’m not going to lie, it’s been challenging.

We’re excited to say that it’s all been worth it though, because I was accepted into the program and will start school full time in the fall. It’s 16 months long, so it will be fast and furious, but so worth it! Holly and I joke around that it’s totally normal to have a toddler and newborn baby and quit your job to go back to school 😉 But we feel like God has opened up so many doors and has already provided for us in countless ways– we’re just going to continue to trust Him and follow where He leads.

We love being a part of so many love stories, and documenting families as they grow in the various seasons of life– so don’t worry, that’s not changing! We’re currently booking 2017/2018 weddings & in December of this year we’ll open up 2019! I can’t believe I’m even saying that– we’re almost to 2020!

If you know anyone who needs photos done, or has a wedding or special event coming up, we’d love for you to send them our way! We’ll be offering several styled mini sessions over the summer, so keep posted for more information on those. Also, if you know any great recipes for 50 different ways to make beans and rice, that would be awesome 😉

But for real, please keep us in your prayers as we make this transition! I’m still finishing up my last prerequisite courses over the summer, so please pray that I would finish those well! We’re so excited to share this journey of life with you

Lots of love to you all,

The Louis Family

Sounds amazing…difficult, challenging, but amazing! I know it may seem crazy to switch right now…but I have to tell you at 57 when God leads those “switches” and opens those doors and gives you the super human strength and determination to get through the long hours…run with it. Your so young and let me know some time in the future when it hits you , and it will , that it was all His plan all along….this journey , every part of it, including everything you’ve been doing up until now, its all part of it , because he uses it ALL! It’s just often hard in the middle of it to see it and to take these bigger leaps of faith. But exciting and wonderful that you have ….you’ll be an amazing !
